WPS Methodology

- Connect the internet to your X6S AC3000 EX8000 WiFi range extender.
- Place your WiFi extender in close proximity to your router.
- Connect a power outlet to your extender.
- Wait for the Power LED on the EX8000 to turn green.
- Click the WPS button on the extender.
- Your router and extender are wired correctly if the EX8000 Link Status LED is lit white.
- The Extender Connection Status LED on the EX8000 Extender would turn blue. If the Link Status Lead turns amber or red, shift the extender closer to the router and try again.
- Adjust your extender’s location.
- Bring your WiFi-enabled computer or mobile device to a spot with poor Netgear Extender Setup coverage.
- Connect your WiFi-enabled laptop or mobile computer to the extended network.

Take these steps to manually set up a Netgear EX8000 with the aid of the installation assistant:
- Test to see if your X6S AC3000 EX8000 extender is powered on.
- Place your Netgear EX8000 WiFi Extender in close proximity to your router.
- Connect a power outlet to your extender.
- Connect the modem to the extender.
- On a computer or mobile device, type mywifiext.net into a web browser.
- The NETGEAR installation assistant appears on the screen.
- Follow the instructions to link your extender to the new WiFi network.
- Adjust your extender’s location.
- If the Netgear EX8000 Extender isn’t connecting, move it closer to the router and try again until the Connection Status LED turns white.
- Once you’ve chosen the best location for your extender, link your client computers to the EX8000 Extender WiFi network.
